
The Prelude circuit is a Horse Show Circuit in Southwestern Ontario. The circuit started in 2010. The shows are hosted at local area stables. Riders collect points at each show towards year-end awards presented at the Prelude Awards banquet.

ENTRY FEES
- $15 per warm up

PRELUDE RULES
- All divisions in the beginner section of the show are open to riders who have not shown at recognized shows requiring them to jump higher than the division they wish to show in at the Prelude show. (i.e. A rider who showed crossrails at a recognized show could show in crossrails or novice at a Prelude show).
- Lead Line Division – All riders are to be lead by capable attendant. Riders in this division may not cross enter into starter division.
- Walk, Trot Division – Riders in this division may cross enter into the Starter Division
- Starter Division – Riders in this division may also compete in the Walk, trot division OR the Junior/Adult Beginner Division
- Junior Crossrails – Is open to riders up to the age of 12. Riders in this division may also compete in the Starter Division OR the Novice Division
- Senior Crossrails – Is open to riders 12 years and older. Riders in this division may also compete in the Starter Division OR the Novice Division
- Novice Division – Maximum height of 2’. Riders in this division may also compete in the Junior/Adult Beginner Divisions OR the Hack Division
- Hack Division – Open to horses and ponies.
- Modified Pony Division – Open to all pony/rider combinations. Riders must be age appropriate for the size of pony being shown. Fences will be 3″ (inches) lower than respective divisions. Lines will not be adjusted.
- 2’3” Child/Adult Hunter Division – Open to horses and ponies
- 2’3″/2’6″ Equitation Over Fences Junior/Amatuer Equitation on the flat.
- 2’6” Hunter Division – Open to horses and ponies
- 2’9” Hunter Division – Open to horses and ponies
- 2’3” Jumper Division – Open to horses and ponies
- 2’6” Jumper Division – Open to horses and ponies
- 2’9” Jumper division – Open to horses and ponies

- Warm up rounds will be run prior to each division. Entries may purchase a max. of 2 warm up rounds per division. Warm up is 1 round, or maximum of 3 refusals.

As show season will be here before we know it I want to get some information out to everyone.
There are 2 new divisions being offered at Ontario Fall finals this year and the Prelude show managers have agreed to add them to our shows as well so that we may send qualifying riders in these divisions to Fall finals![]()
Intro Hunter Division
This division is open to riders who have not previously shown in any division requiring them to jump higher than 21". Riders in this division may also compete in the cross rails division or the novice division. Courses will consist of verticals only at a height of 18". 2 refusals will constitute elimination. Classes in this division are hunter over fences, equitation over fences, hunter under saddle, equitation on the flat![]()
cross rail riders will no longer be allowed to cross enter into novice hunter they will be able to cross enter into the Intro division.![]()
2′ Jumper division
Open to horses and ponies. All classes will be run under table A rules. The division will consist of Clear round ( multiple rounds allowed and will be charged accordingly ) immediate jump off class x 2 and a speed class. 2 refusals will constitute elimination All horses/ponies must be under control. Dangerous riding will constitute elimination at the judge’s discretion.![]()
